Puff Pastry Ham and Cheese “Napoleons”
Ingredients (Yields 12 Napoleons):
- 1 3-4 oz sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg beaten
- 16 oz Creta Farms Extra Lean Cooked Ham, sliced
- 12 slices american cheese
- ½ C parmesan cheese
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Thaw pastry and unfold onto flat work surface.
- Cut each sheet into 3 strips, following the fold lines. Cut each strip into 2 equal halves. Place 6 pieces onto parchment lined baking sheet.
- Brush top of each piece with whisked egg and sprinkle with a pinch of Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 400 degrees for appox. 15 minutes, (per package instructions), until puffed and golden brown. Cool on wire cooling rack, and split in half, to make 12 slices.
Assembly
- While pastry is cooling, slice ham into thin “ribbons”.
- Layer one slice of puff pastry, one slice of cheese, a small pile of ham ribbons, another slice of cheese, and place parmesan crusted slice of puff pastry on top.
